SKIN PEELS
Sometimes simple daily exfoliation just isn't enough. Sometimes your skin needs a boost to regain its freshness and tightness.
Over the years, the skin sheds its dead skin cells. However, sometimes these skin cells stick to the surface and form a glue of decayed skin that becomes difficult to penetrate.
For this reason we offer a range of skin peels. Skin Peels benefit the skin in two distinct ways; firstly, the dead skin cells are rapidly, effectively and uniformely removed to allow younger, fresher looking skin to resurface, and secondly, by removing the dead skin cells and exposing the fresher skin, the body's natural response is to create new skin cells. In this way, the normal 6 week renewal cycle of the skin is reduced to 4 or 5 weeks.
How does this benefit the skin?
The dead skin cells have no blood supply and so appear dull. By removing these dead cells, we can instantly improve the skin tone and natural radiance of the skin. By promoting quicker renewal of skin cells, we can reduce the appearance of fines lines and wrinkles, as the skin has not had a sufficient length of time to allow the lines and wrinkles to re-establish themselves.
All this leads to fresher, more youthful looking skin.
Skin peels can be applied to the face or the body. Face peels, or facial peels, take the form of glycolic peels, TCA peels, or more aggressive Jessner's peels. The choice of face peels depends upon the condition of the skin before treatment and also the depth of lines and wrinkles. It is for this reason that we provide our clients with a pre and post treatment pack that is included in the cost of the skin peels. This pack prepares the skin for the glycolic peel, or the TCA peel, so that the best results are achievable.
We pride ourselves in providing a "minimum down time" service when applying skin peels, in particular face peels, and many of our clients feel comfortable returning to work after having a lunch time face peel.
Skin peels can also be used to treat blemishes, marks, scars and stretch marks on the body. For this, stronger peel solution are applied, and the skin peel recovery period is slightly longer.
